US $20 Gold
The United States mint made $20 Gold Liberty coins from 1849-1907, although dates prior to 1877 are more rare as well as some dates through 1893. $20 St. Gaudens coins were minted from 1908-1933 with rare dates interspersed throughout. $20 gold coins, or Double Eagles as they are often called, are a popular choice as they have nearly an ounce of gold (0.9675 oz.), a U.S. face value, and numismatic value on top of their gold value. Premiums change according to availability, rarity, and condition.
